Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Compare My Cleaning Quote ("we", "us"), governing your use of Compare My Cleaning Quote (the "Platform"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully; if you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. Our role

Compare My Cleaning Quote is an introduction platform. We connect customers who need cleaning services with independent, third-party cleaning professionals. We are not a cleaning company, we do not employ the professionals, and we do not carry out any cleaning work ourselves. Any contract for cleaning services is formed directly between the customer and the professional. We are not a party to that contract and are not responsible for the performance, quality, timing, pricing or conduct of any professional or customer. We provide the tools to find and connect with each other; the arrangement itself is yours.

2. Your account

To use most features you must register for an account and verify your email address and mobile number. You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account. We may refuse, suspend or remove accounts that provide false information or that we reasonably believe are being used fraudulently or in breach of these Terms.

3. Customers

As a customer, posting a request is free and places you under no obligation to hire anyone. When you post a request you agree that matching professionals may contact you, and that your contact details will be shared with a professional once they send you a quote. Quotes are estimates provided by professionals and become binding only when you and the professional agree the work directly. You are responsible for satisfying yourself as to a professional's suitability, insurance and pricing before engaging them. We recommend you never pay in full before work is agreed and completed to your satisfaction, and that you keep communication and payment records.

4. Professionals and credits

As a professional, you may create a profile and receive leads that match your services and coverage areas. Receiving leads is free; responding to a lead requires spending credits. The credit cost of each lead is shown before you respond. Credits are purchased in advance and are used when you choose to contact a customer by sending a quote. Except where required by law or at our discretion, credits are non-refundable, including where a customer does not respond or ultimately hires someone else — the credit pays for the introduction and the contact details, not a guaranteed booking. You are solely responsible for the services you provide, for holding any necessary insurance, qualifications and legal registrations, and for dealing fairly, lawfully and professionally with customers. You agree that reviews of your services may be published on your profile.

Where payments for credits are processed, they are handled by our payment provider; you agree to their terms in addition to ours. You must not attempt to circumvent the credit system, for example by soliciting customers to transact off-platform in order to avoid credit charges where a lead was obtained through the Platform.

5. Reviews and content

Reviews must be honest, based on genuine experience, and must not contain unlawful, defamatory, offensive or personal data about third parties. By posting reviews or other content you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and use that content in connection with operating and promoting the Platform. We may remove content that breaches these Terms or that we consider inappropriate, but we are not obliged to monitor all content.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: submit false, misleading or fraudulent requests, quotes or information; harass, abuse or harm another person; post unlawful, infringing or harmful content; attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform or other accounts; use bots, scrapers or automated means except as expressly permitted; introduce malware; or use the Platform for any purpose other than genuinely finding or providing cleaning services. Breaching this section may result in immediate suspension or removal.

7. Intellectual property

The Platform, including its design, text, graphics and software, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You may use the Platform only as permitted by these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or reverse-engineer any part of the Platform without our prior written consent.

8. Disclaimers and liability

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we work hard to keep it reliable, secure and accurate, we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any professional or customer will meet your expectations. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties and we are not liable for the acts, omissions, work quality, pricing or conduct of any professional or customer, nor for any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Where we are found liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us (if any) in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Suspension and termination

You may close your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or to protect the Platform and its users. On termination, provisions that by their nature should survive (including liability, intellectual property and governing law) will continue to apply.

10. Governing law, changes and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory local law provides otherwise. We may update these Terms from time to time; the version and date above show the latest version, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms. Questions?
